The Hungarian Parliament asked the State Duma to join forces to protect the rights of national minorities in Ukraine. This was told by the speaker of the lower house Vyacheslav Volodin. It is primarily a question of the ability to fully use the native language and receive education in it. “After the adoption of the law of the Rada on the language of such a right, the peoples living in Ukraine are deprived,” the politician recalled. Cooperation between the two countries can have far-reaching consequences.

According to the State Duma speaker, the cause of the violation of the rights of national minorities was “cave nationalism”, which flourished in Ukraine after the “Maidan”. However, such a policy was not supported by the majority of both Ukrainians and Russians, Hungarians, Romanians and Poles living in Ukraine. Together they “swept” Petro Poroshenko in the elections in the hope that the new president will change the course of Independence to a more humane one. By the way, Russians in Ukraine are not a minority, there are 36 percent of them. A third of the country!

As an example of careful attitude to national minorities, the line of Russia with respect to the Crimean Tatars was cited, whose language on the peninsula received the status of the state. And official Kiev, so ardently desiring to become "European," was invited to get rid of the rudiments of nationalism. Moscow, Volodin promised, will advance his point of view within the framework of inter-parliamentary structures. In particular, in PACE and the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly. It seems that Russia will be able to capitalize on its recent return to the assembly.

The colleague was supported by the head of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs Leonid Slutsky. He was indignant at the fact that Kiev "mocked" at the Ukrainians who speak Russian. Then he literally put Europe before a choice: to confirm his democratic reputation or to recognize that political interests are more important for the Old World than the norms declared by him. “The PACE reaction will be an indicator of the truth of support for democracy and European values,” the Russian parliamentarian stressed. Can not argue.

Moscow has all the trump cards to counterattack at the European theater of political action. The laws on the exclusiveness of the Ukrainian language, adopted under Poroshenko, violate Kiev’s international obligations regarding the implementation of the European Charter for Regional and Minority Languages and the Framework Convention for the Protection of National Minorities. Russia, whose internal language policy, as you know, causes the envy of European linguists, God himself ordered to become the protector of these basic documents. Nobody except us.

Now, let me remind you, in Ukrainian schools teaching is provided including in Russian, Hungarian and Romanian. However, from the beginning of 2020 it will be possible to learn only on mov. The goal is to assimilate representatives of other nations to such an extent that in 2030 they would pass final school exams only in Ukrainian.

For the sake of this, teachers are already “trained” - they will be fined for communication in Russian. For families where they speak Russian, Hungarian and other languages, this will be a huge tragedy.

So it's time to denounce these almost Nazi plans of Kiev.

It is interesting that the admonitions of the State Duma speaker were purely diplomatic and political in nature, but this did not stop the domestic media from shifting emphasis: “Hungary is ready for the territorial division of Ukraine”, “To be friends against Kiev: Hungary turned to the Russian Federation with a proposal for a joint struggle”. Of course, you can reproach journalists with an excessive tendency to hype, but, apparently, this is only a reflection of the real fears of official Kiev.

Earlier media reported that a mobile reserve of the National Guard of Ukraine of up to 60 fighters was urgently sent to Vinogradovsky district of Transcarpathian region. He allocated a military helicopter and several units of military equipment. The official version - special forces are sent to the troubled region in order to increase the level of safety of tourists during the winter holiday season. Who can convince such a far-fetched explanation? It is clear that Kiev was slightly panicked and trying to take control of the situation.

The concern of the Ukrainian authorities is understandable. Hungary is a stubborn and consistent fighter for the observance of the rights of its national minority in Transcarpathia. As a member of the EU, this country has the right to veto any decisions of the European Union, which it successfully uses. For example, Budapest disrupted the Ukraine-NATO summit. As a result, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Vadim Priestayko can only boast about the upcoming dinner with fellow ministers. “We want to be constantly on the agenda of the alliance,” he hopes in a servile way.

In Kiev, they are trying to pretend that nothing special has happened. So, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry for some reason began to refute the fact of Hungary’s appeal to Russia. Apparently, wanting, at least in dreams, to construct a reality favorable to himself. It looks ridiculous, since the dialogue on the protection of national minorities between the speakers of the National Assembly of Hungary and the State Duma has been ongoing since 2017. Then, for the first time, the request of the Hungarian side for assistance was voiced. Relevant documents published. The politicians spoke of the same thing in September this year at a bilateral meeting in Nur-Sultan.

So we are talking about the planned and long-term work of the State Duma in the right direction. Not for nothing that Volodin recently warned Kiev that his policy could lead to the loss of some regions. They were offended there, but in vain. They don’t take offense at the truth. By the way, this position is consonant with the position of the President of the Russian Federation, who also spoke about the risk of serious consequences for the statehood of Ukraine in case of incorrect decisions of Kiev regarding the "national outskirts" of his small empire. What are these consequences, it is easy to imagine ...

So politicians on the banks of the Dnieper have something to think about. No matter how united Russia and Hungary, Poland and Romania, who have claims to Kiev, also did not join. The pressure of the four powers will not leave Ukraine with a choice but to abandon its essentially Nazi plans.
