An earthquake of magnitude 5.6 recorded off the coast of New Guinea


An earthquake of magnitude 5.6 was recorded on December 4 near the shores of Papua New Guinea in the Pacific. This is reported by the US Geological Survey.

The epicenter of the earthquake was located 69 km south of the city of Kavieng, the focus was at a depth of 10 km.

Earlier, an earthquake of magnitude 6.1 was recorded off the coast of Chile.

On December 2, tremors of magnitude 5.7 were recorded in the Solomon Islands.
