He marked the history of music through his funk, pop and rock music, all at once and two years after his death, Prince continues to do so. Thirty unpublished versions of some of his titles have just been unveiled.

Two years before his hit, Purple Rain , Prince denoted in the musical landscape of the time: in 1982, he released the album 1999, one of the most ambitious of his career. A reissue of this album has been released with, not new titles of Prince but thirty new versions of some of his songs or recordings never released live. They come from his famous safe, dubbed "The Vault", a room under seal which only he had access where he archived any text or recording. "When we recorded, as he totally controlled his music, he chose only what he kept, you never knew what was going or did not go in the trunk (...) It was always his choice," declared his former bass player, Larry Graham, to AFP.

According to Prince Estate, whose mission is to bring Prince's work to life, there would still be many titles still unveiled by the pop star ... an album a year could come out over the next twenty years ...
