Opening of children's cafeteria for those who want to recover from addiction Ibaraki Kashima November 28 10:39

A children's cafeteria has been opened in Kashima City, Ibaraki Prefecture, where people who want to recover from addictions such as alcohol and drugs are cooking and serving their children.

The children's cafeteria was established by Shicho Job Training Center, an NPO in Kashima City, which is working to support recovery from addiction.

In this cafeteria, people who want to recover from addictions use vegetables that they have cultivated as ingredients and cook with NPO staff.

The goal is to provide a place to eat and prevent children from being isolated, and to encourage people who want to break away from addiction through interaction with children.

In addition to eating space, the cafeteria also has books and tables for children so that you can study and read.

A woman in her 30s who was trying to recover from addictions said, “It ’s fun for me for the first time.”

NPO President Yutaka Kurihara said, “Children are isolated in the social strain. I want to make a place where many people can interact.”

This children's cafeteria is open from 1 pm to 7 pm on weekdays, and if you register, you can use 500 yen for adults, 200 yen for junior high school students, and free for elementary school students and younger.
