"Get the knives" (Knives Out)

Foreign publications believe that the new film by Ryan Johnson is "devilish pleasure." Johnson not only posed, but also wrote a noir in the surroundings of a tabloid detective novel about the hypocrisy and lies inherent in the Tromby family.

The head of the family, 85-year-old writer Harlan Tromby (Christopher Plummer), was found dead the next morning after celebrating his anniversary. At the scene of the crime, the police and private detective Benoit Blanc hired by someone unknown come. Everyone, from a nurse from Latin America to the mother of the deceased, is under suspicion.

Blanc conducts conversations with each of the heirs (and, as usual, of the alleged killers), during which circumstances and secrets are clarified that could well become the motive for the murder on the part of any of Tromby.

In his film, Johnson put together a truly stellar caste: greedy relatives are played by Jamie Lee Curtis, Chris Evans, Michael Shannon, Tony Collett and Don Johnson, and a meticulous detective - Daniel Craig.

Frozen 2 (Frozen II)

The reputation of the first part of Frozen, which earned more than $ 1 billion at the box office, did not question the creation of a sequel to the story of the two princesses Elsa and Anna. The second film was filmed by the co-authors of the first - Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee (this is the first female director of the Disney animated film and the first director whose picture earned more than $ 1 billion at the box office).

Several years have passed since the events of the first part. One day, Queen Elsa (Idina Menzel) hears a mysterious voice, trying to answer which unintentionally awakens an unknown element that attacks Arendelle. Together with Anna (Kristen Bell), Kristoff (Jonathan Groff), deer Sven and snowman Olaf (Josh Gad) they go to the North to learn about the past of their kingdom. There, on the edge of civilization, the heroes will encounter magical creatures - the personification of the four elements.

Lev Yashin. Goalkeeper of my dreams

In 1953, Lev Yashin, who became the best goalkeeper of the 20th century, took the place of the main goalkeeper of the Dynamo Moscow football club. He made popular a new style of play, involving moving around the entire penalty area, and was the first in Soviet football to have a hundred matches without missing a single goal.

The new biopic from the producer of the Gagarin tape tells not only about the triumphs of the goalkeeper, but also about the notorious failure during the 1962 World Cup and the subsequent return. The historical authenticity of the film was followed by Valentina Yashina, the widow of the legendary goalkeeper.

Beautiful era (La belle époque)

Victor Drumon (Daniel Otoy) is an elderly artist protesting against the fruits of technological progress (mainly gadgets). The hero is permanently dissatisfied with life and slowly charges his wife Marianne (Fanny Ardan) with this mood. She does not really want to lose her taste for life, therefore, in desperation, she expels her husband from home.

Their son, Maxim (Mikael Cohen) and his friend Antoine (Guillaume Canet), who founded his own agency, which can transfer anyone to any era with the help of theatrical scenery and actors, intervene in the situation. And while some want to spend the evening in the company of William Faulkner or plunge into the era of the Late Renaissance, Victor decides to return the day he met Marianne on May 16, 1974. At first, the skeptical hero is gradually drawn into the game and runs the risk of getting lost in the reconstructed memories.

“Beautiful Era” is the second full-length film by director and actor Nicolas Bedos. The picture participated in the out-of-competition program of the Cannes Film Festival.

Atlantic (Atlantique)

Atlantic is the first full-length film by Frenchwoman of Senegalese descent, Mati Diop, based on her short film of 2009. The film participated in the main competition of the Cannes Film Festival this year, which gave Diop the status of the first black woman whose film fought for the Golden Palm Branch. The picture was awarded the Grand Prix of the movie jury.

In a suburb of Dakar, off the coast of the Atlantic Ocean, workers are engaged in the construction of an innovative skyscraper. The protagonist Suleiman, along with other builders, has not received a salary for several months. He is in love with a girl named Ada, who is about to become the wife of a local rich man. In search of a better life, Suleiman, along with other workers, goes overseas, from where he is destined to return only in the form of spirit.

Traitor (Il traditore)

The multiple laureate of the Venice Film Festival Marco Belokchio made an important film for the history of Italy about how “Cosa Nostra” crashed. The picture, among other things, this year also fought for the "Golden Palm Branch" of the Cannes Film Festival.

The film is based on real events and tells the story of the life of the Sicilian mafiosi Tommaso Buchetta. In the 1980s, at the height of the war between Sicilian bosses over heroin traffic, Buscetta emigrated to Brazil. At this time, the mafia kills his relatives and children in Italy, and Bushetta himself is soon arrested and sent back. Then he decides to take a desperate step: to meet with judge Giovanni Falcone and surrender all the members of the mafia.

The main role in the film was played by Pierfranchesko Favino (“Race”, “Angels and Demons”).

Great poetry

Lyokha and Vitya are army friends. Together they fought in Lugansk, and returning to the suburbs, settled themselves as collectors in the private security company. Friends are looking for poetic moods in the prose of life: they go to a literary circle and learn to write poetry. And they are also fond of cockfights. Both friends are trying to find their place in the space of endless war - life.

For directing the film "Big Poetry", Alexander Lungin was noted at the Kinotavr festival. Alexander Kuznetsov, who played Vitya in the film, received a prize named after Oleg Yankovsky for the best actor in the framework of the show.
