Safety measures to change the trajectory of falling rocks to “Fujitsutsutsu” on Mt. Fuji 4:28 on November 28, Yamanashi Prefecture

In September, Yamanashi Prefecture established a “carrying levee” to change the trajectory of rockfalls as a safety measure for climbers in response to rockfalls occurring on the Yamanashi Prefecture side of Mt. It was decided to install a new one.

On the Yamanashi Prefecture side of Mt. Fuji, a rock fall occurred on September 9, the end of the summer mountain season, and the fences and roofs were damaged in the three mountain huts at the 8th and 7th stations.

As a result of Yamanashi Prefecture's investigation, it was found that rocks with cracks and cracks were found at an altitude of about 3200 meters in the west of “Yoshida Osawa”.

In Yamanashi Prefecture, the rock fall that occurred near the top of the mountain hit the rock and changed the trajectory by colliding with the rock, and changed the trajectory of the rock fall to prevent recurrence. We decided to install a new “tsutsumi”.

At present, there are 22 “Bundes” in Mt. Fuji from the 6th station to the 8th station, but the new “Bundes” are planned to be installed in the upstream of the swamp with traces of stones falling. Means that the policy is to start construction.

At Mt. Fuji, in August, a fallen rock near the summit killed a Russian woman, and strengthening safety measures has become an issue.
