The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications issued a correction order based on the Act on Prevention of Transfer of Criminal Proceeds, because a Tokyo dealer who provided a telephone forwarding service did not sufficiently verify the identity of the customer. This is the first time in the country that a corrective order has been issued to a call forwarding company because it was forwarding a fraud group call.

The corrective order was issued by SLOPE UP, a telephone forwarding company in Nakano-ku, Tokyo.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, they often violated the obligations stipulated in the Act on Prevention of Transfer of Criminal Proceeds.

Call forwarding services can display numbers beginning with "03" on the other party's phone even from a mobile phone, and are fraudulent by fraud groups aimed at the elderly.

Previous police investigations have shown that the contractor has forwarded fraud group calls, and the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications has investigated the reality.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, the contractor is saying that “there was insufficient awareness of the law”.

This is the first time in the country that a corrective order has been issued to a telephone forwarding company, and the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications will continue to work with police to strengthen the guidance of malicious companies.
