"Women's rights have been confiscated"
Like her, many other Iraqis have engaged in protest. A rare fact in this very conservative country. "At first the protesters had a hard time accepting it but it's a reality: women exist here but their rights have been confiscated. With this revolution, things could change for them. "
If this speech is relatively shared by men in Tahrir Square, it is not unanimous in the rest of the country. "Many families still do not allow women to demonstrate with others," says a young activist.
