Forecasters expect that the upcoming winter in the European territory of Russia will be quite warm. However, this does not mean that in winter there will be no days with severe frosts. This was stated by RT chief specialist of the Moscow Weather Bureau Tatyana Pozdnyakova.
“The seasonal forecasts that are now spreading, speak only about the background of the average monthly temperature. This does not mean that we will only have warm weather all the time. We can have periods of warm weather alternating with cold. And in general, any of the winter months will be warmer than long-term values. Therefore, one does not exclude the other. Even if there is a warm, or even very warm winter, this does not mean that there will be no frost in the metropolitan area, ”the weather forecaster explained.
According to her, in Moscow not every year the temperature drops below -30 ° C, but almost every year there are at least several days with temperatures below -25 ° C. Nevertheless, such indicators do not go beyond the norm. Severe frost, by meteorological standards, implies a decrease in performance to -30 ° C and beyond.
As the chief specialist of the Moscow weather bureau recalled, the specialists of the Hydrometeorological Center previously reported that winter in the middle lane will be warmer than usual.
“That's why Villefand used the term pink winter.” That is, a positive anomaly of air temperature in winter will prevail, ”she said.

Moreover, the general temperature regime in the capital so far exceeds the norm by 3-5 ° C, the weather forecaster notes. The situation will begin to change on Wednesday, November 19, during the day. The influence of the Arctic anticyclone will be felt.

At the Phobos weather center, RT explained that sunny weather without precipitation is expected on November 21. At night, the thermometer columns will drop to -5 ...- 10 ° С, during the day it is expected to be slightly below 0 ° С, light frost, the temperature is about 0 ...- 5 ° С.
In the forecast of the Hydrometeorological Center for a week, it is noted that "such indications are already 2–3 ° lower than the climatic norm." A similar weather pattern will continue on Friday and Saturday, November 22nd and 23rd.
Frosty air, which will begin to flow from beyond the Urals, will spread throughout European Russia. The largest deviations of temperature indicators are expected in the Southern Urals and in the Southern Federal District. In these regions, the temperature will be set at 6-10 ° C below the climatic norm. In general, the specialists of the Hydrometeorological Center explain that such a weather situation is "completely uncharacteristic for November."
“It can be observed much more often in winter, in January-February, when the influence of the Siberian anticyclone also begins to spread to European Russia,” meteorologists say.
