The famous American actor, Matt Damon, stated that his stay away from Hollywood, recently, was for the sake of his family.

"I wanted to go out of work for a year for my family, because I had filmed five films before," Damon, 49, told the German newspaper Augsburger Allgemeine Zeitung. But in 2017 my father was dying, so we had to go back to my hometown in Boston, so that I could be with my father in the hospital. "It was a very terrible and difficult year."

Damon explained that because this year was not a real break for his family, he had to drop out for another year. "It was absolutely necessary," he said.

On the other hand, Damon said that Hollywood has changed dramatically over the past years. "It was incredible that we were getting money for a movie like Ford vs Ferrari."

It is worth mentioning that Damon is represented in this film, which is about motor racing, along with British actor Christian Bell. The film is currently screened in cinemas.
