SAN DIEGO, California (Reuters) - Three children and two adults were shot dead and another was injured in a family dispute that turned into shooting on Saturday in southeastern San Diego, California, police said.

Police headed to a house in the Paradise Hill neighborhood where they found a three-year-old boy, his mother and father dead inside early on Saturday.

Three other children, aged five, nine and 11, respectively, were taken to a hospital where two of them died, San Diego police chief David Nislett told a news conference.

"When the police arrived at the scene, they saw through a window a little boy with blood," said San Diego police officer Matt Dobbs.

He added that the child was taken to hospital where he underwent surgery.

He said that after the mother on Friday received an order against the father not to be subjected to a fight broke out between them on Saturday morning. The father shot his family members and then killed himself with his pistol.
