Arseni Corsellas, the actor who lent his voice to the dubbing of actors such as Sean Connery, Rock Hudson, Nick Nolte, Burt Lancaster or the popular JR of the series 'Dallas' in its Catalan version, has died this weekend at 86 years.
Arseni Corsellas, considered one of the greatest actors of dubbing in Spain, began his professional career in Radio Juventud de Barcelona and in RNE doing radio theater.
His voice rang in the dubbed versions of 21 Sean Connery movies, 19 of Rock Hudson, 17 of Nick Nolte, the same number of films in which he intervened lending his voice to Burt Lancaster and Christopher Plummer.
His serious vocal record, which completed up to a thousand dubbing, also served to put himself in the shoes of Burt Reynolds, Charlton Heston and Marcello Mastroianni, as well as that of Humphrey Bogart in the second dubbing of "Casablanca."
Corsellas, who was born in 1933 in Figueres (Gerona), was also one of the first actors to bend to Catalan when TV3 began his broadcasts, and that was when his dubbing of actor Larry Hagman became popular in the role of JR in the series "Dallas" television.
Arseni Corsellas, whose son David, continues the tradition and is also an actor and dubbing director, also participated in some films as an actor, such as Mario Camus's 'Self-love'; or 'The best thing that can happen to a croissant', by Paco Mir.
