According to Medinsky, there is also a “bias of the selectors of Russian cinema”, associated mainly with the trends of European film festivals.
“It’s a complete feeling that the worse the director’s reality will be shown by the Russian director, the more chances there are to get to the festival,” said the head of the Russian Ministry of Culture.
Earlier, the director and screenwriter Yegor Konchalovsky, in an interview with the NSN, called for working out the issue of promoting domestic films in Russia.
