Sin (Il Peccato)

The film by Andrei Konchalovsky about the Renaissance titan, sculptor, poet and one of the greatest draftsmen of all time Michelangelo Buonarroti was originally called "Monster". So the inhabitants of Carrara nicknamed the gigantic marble block, which Michelangelo looked after for one of his future sculptures. According to Konchalovsky, the previous title of the film is applicable to the figure of the sculptor himself.

The plot of the tape covers the middle of the life path of the creator, approximately 1510-1520. Michelangelo simultaneously fulfills two orders: he works on the tomb of Pope Julius II and designs the facade of the Basilica of San Lorenzo in Florence. Two influential families are fighting for the artist’s loyalty - the Medici and Della Rover. The sculptor has to maneuver between customers in order to manage to complete both projects on time.

The role of Michelangelo Buonarroti in the Russian-Italian project was played by lay actor Alberto Testone.

Charlie's Angels

In 2015, American actress and director Elizabeth Banks, together with the Sony Pictures film studio, decided to reincarnate the famous franchise about a trio of special agents from Charlie Townsend's organization. Banks noted that her picture is not a restart, but a continuation of the story told in the television series of the 1970s and feature films of the 2000s.

The secret agency led by the mysterious Charlie Townsend has grown internationally and opened offices around the world. Bosley also became a lot: now this is not a name, but the name of the position held by the mentors of the "angels". In the story, a scientist named Elena calls for help in the organization. They want to use its high-tech development as a weapon. The “angels” Sabina and Jane will protect the IT person.

Ford vs. Ferrari (Ford v. Ferrari)

In the 1960s, car designer Carroll Shelby (Matt Damon) built a Ford GT40 sports car under the wing of the Ford auto concern. The car was created to take away from Ferrari victory in the legendary 24-hour endurance race in Le Mans. The car was tested by British racer Ken Miles (Christian Bale).

For the role in the film, Bail in a short time needed to lose about 30 kg, collected for the shootings in the film "Power" about Dick Cheney. The actor, by his own admission, did not fit in a race car. The film, based on a real confrontation between the two racing teams, was directed by Logan director James Mangold.

"Matthias and Maxime" (Matthias et Maxime)

In the film "Matthias and Maxim" Xavier Dolan continues to explore the topic of sexual orientation and ... returns to the roots - moves the shooting to Canada and again plays the main role in his own film (the first since the "Tom on the Farm").

Matthias and Maxim are childhood friends. Matthias works as a lawyer in a reputable company. Maxim must fly to Australia for two years from day to day. Once, together with a company of acquaintances, they go to rest on the lake. There, a friend of Maxim and Matthias offers them to star in their short film, where the heroes need to kiss. Then friends understand that their feelings for each other are not platonic.

The picture was the eighth in a row in the filmography of Dolan-director. The tape claimed the "Golden Palm Branch" of the Cannes Film Festival.

Anatoly Krupnov. "He was"

Now Anatoly Krupnov, who died in 1997 from a heart attack, is remembered by few - according to the creator of the documentary film "He was" Daria Ivankova, this is unfair. In the late 1990s, he was a prominent figure in Russian rock: he founded the group “Black Obelisk”, collaborated with “The Untouchables” by Garik Sukachev, created arrangements of DDT hits, and performed solo.

Krupnov was (and did not seem, as people who knew him emphasize) a charismatic leader, considered himself the country's best bass player and expressed his willingness to be responsible for high-quality sound on the Russian stage. Those around, however, did not dispute these ambitious claims.

The director proposes to expand the title phrase of the documentary “He was” - “He was a hero of the time of those who are not asleep” (the time when Krupnov lived and worked was characterized by DDT leader Yuri Shevchuk). For Ivankova, a film is the best way to talk about a musician to those who have not caught his era.

The film has already been appreciated by songwriter Margarita Pushkina. “He turned his soul inside out, made him laugh, cry, yearn for the very golden times of our rock,” the poetess shared her impressions on social networks.

"Two"

The film was directed and written by Timofei Zhalnin - an hour and a half psychological experiment.

He placed his family on the verge of breaking up in the Siberian taiga, isolated from the benefits of civilization and the pressure of others, and left him at the mercy of nature. The couple headed for healing lakes in the hope of solving health problems. Left alone with his wife Nadia, Andrei decided to admit to her that he wanted to divorce. Apparently, a certain role in this decision was played by his imperious father-in-law, who seeks to control every step of the couple.

The creators of the chamber drama offer viewers to think about the eternal - family values, the balance of human and nature forces, issues of independence and responsibility. Before the release, the picture was shown at the Kinotavr, Baltic Debuts and Pacific Meridian festivals, as well as the London Golden Unicorn movie show from Russia and about Russia.

Midway

The director of "Patriot" Roland Emmerich returned to the big screens with the next action movie. He recreated one of the most significant battles of the Second World War for the United States - the Battle of Midway Atoll, which took place in the summer of 1942. It became a decisive event, which then played in favor of the American Navy in the Pacific.

The project involves Woody Harrelson, Luke Evans, Ed Skrein, Patrick Wilson, Aaron Eckhart and Mandy Moore. At the time of publication of the article, the rating of critics of the picture on Rotten Tomatoes was 42% (viewer rating - 92%).
