A Bizen ware artist from Bizen City, Okayama Prefecture, completed a work that faithfully reproduced the Japanese treasure of a national treasure, and was soon dedicated to a shrine in Okayama City.

The Bizen ware is a Japanese treasure, a Japanese treasure called Sanchomo, made in Setouchi City, Okayama Prefecture during the Kamakura period. It was completed by Naoyuki Morimoto, Bizen ware artist in Bizen City, over a period of about 4 months.

Bizen ware is originally characterized by a simple texture of reddish brown soil, but Morimoto uses a finer clay than usual to directly express the fire with a ceramic plate in order to express the sharpness and gloss of the sword. This means that it was possible to finish the steel color by baking it.

In addition, the feather-like blade that came from the name “Yamatori” was reproduced by painting the surface with a metal spatula and painting with white soil.

Mr. Morimoto is working on a project to raise donations to purchase “Yamatorige” in Setouchi City. It is scheduled to be dedicated to a shrine in Okayama city on the 22nd of this month.

Mr. Morimoto said, “I'm very happy to have completed it safely. I pray that the famous sword can return home locally.”
