  • ACCOMMODATIONS: Murders, paranormal events, ghosts ... Nine cursed hotels where you can sleep

Castles, tree-houses, tiny capsules, ice rooms ... The universe of unusual hotels is very wide and now the palace of the king of Jaipur (India) is added, who has just announced the rental of his best suite. It does so as tourist accommodation through the Airbnb digital platform, becoming the first monarch in the world to offer its abode to the public in this way.

The Jaipur Palace, built 300 years ago, is home to the Royal Family and where they have welcomed the most distinguished guests in the world such as Bill Clinton, Prince Charles of England and Jackie Kennedy , among others. Starting on November 23, the Gudliya suite, located in the private rooms of the Palace, will be available to book with an exceptional host.

A fancy host

This is his highness Padmanabh Singh, a modern 21-year-old marajá and a pol player who accessed the throne in 2011, becoming the eleventh generation of the family that has reigned in the place for almost a thousand years. "I am delighted that my family and I can share the experience of Indian hospitality with guests who visit us," said the monarch.

Not surprisingly, the proceeds from the reserves will go to the Princess Diya Kumari Foundation , a local non-profit organization dedicated to supporting women in rural Rajasthan. The Gudliya Suite, the price of which is 8,000 dollars (approximately 7,200 euros) per night, will be available at a special opening price of 1,000 dollars (900 euros) until December 31. Airbnb will pay the remaining amount to match the full rate of each reservation as a contribution to the Foundation. As of January 1, 2020, it will be announced again for its usual price of $ 8,000 a night.

The building is the heart of the capital of Rajasthan.

Jaipur Palace is one of the most emblematic buildings in India, a place full of history and located in the heart of the capital of the state of Rajasthan. For its part, the luxurious Gudliya suite is located in the Chandra Mahal (the royal chambers ), an area that until now was reserved for members of the Royal Family and a few guests. The suite includes its own living room, kitchen, a luxury bathroom and even a private indoor pool.

With private butler

The palace is a testimony of the Mughal emperors of India. Built in 1727 by the Marajá Sawai Jai Singh II, considered the founder of Jaipur, has 17th-century Rajput , Mughal and European architectural influences . Outside there is a crimson yellow facade and spectacular gardens that give entrance to the palace. The interior stands out for ornate dining rooms, sandstone walls painted with gold dust and intricate wood carvings.

The City Palace of Jaipur is one of the most emblematic buildings in India.

It also has a museum dedicated to the private collection of hand-woven carpets and manuscripts that the royal family has been treasuring over the years. Guests will be attended by a private butler, who will be in charge of organizing personalized experiences in the city such as shopping in the most exclusive places, visiting local museums and other tailor-made excursions.

In the Palace, you can enjoy authentic Rajasthani meals on a terrace overlooking the Aravalli Mountains, and breakfast in the company of peacocks walking through the Palace gardens.
