Free of charge for kindergarten Private kindergarten more than 600 raise the usage fee.

Of the 4000 private kindergartens that have been subsidized by the government in conjunction with the early childhood education and childcare that started last month, more than 600 raised the usage fee, of which at least 5 kindergartens took advantage of the system. A survey by the Cabinet Office revealed that the price was thought to have increased.

Last month, early childhood education and childcare free of charge were subsidized by the national government depending on the usage fee, so there was concern about raising the piggyback to raise the usage fee for the subsidy. At the meeting of the Liberal Democratic Party held on the 7th, the results of the fact-finding survey so far were made clear.

According to it, in approximately 4000 private kindergartens that are subsidized by the country, 619 gardens have increased their usage fees since last month.

Of these, at least 5 kindergartens may fall under the “pride raising”, and other 130 kindergartens cannot be immediately judged to be a reasonable price increase, and the contents are confirmed.

On the other hand, regarding non-authorized childcare facilities, we asked local governments in each region to report cases of suspected “pride raising”, and so far, they have risen to 28 facilities.

The Cabinet Office will continue to work with relevant ministries and local governments to understand the actual situation and provide guidance and advice to kindergartens and childcare facilities that are suspected of raising the piggyback price.
