Russian customs officers have arrested a woman at the Chinese border in her shoes and about two kilograms of gold after she drew attention in a strange way, authorities said Tuesday.

According to a spokeswoman for local customs authorities Marina Boyko was found in the shoes of the young Russian about two kilograms of gold, according to Agence France-Presse.

Russian customs agents stopped the young woman, whose name or age was not disclosed, at a customs center in eastern Siberia after noticing that she was "tense and acting suspiciously," Boecker said.

After being examined by a metal detector, it was found hiding in her shoes eight gold bars weighing about 1.9 kilograms.
