The Italian actor Omero Antonutti , known for being the voiceover of Roberto Benigni's film 'La Vida es Bella' (1997), died Tuesday at age 84.

Born in Basiliano in 1935, Antonutti has died in a Udine hospital where he was admitted as a result of a tumor, the Italian newspaper 'La Repubblica' reported.

Actor and doubler, he developed part of his career in Spain , with roles in the film 'El Sur' (1983), by Víctor Erice; 'Bay of Biscay' (1985); in 'El Dorado' (1988), by Carlos Saura, 'El fencing master' (1982), by Pedro Olea, or '14, Fabian Road '(2008), by Jaime de Armiñán.

He has worked both in theater and in cinema, highlighting his work as a narrator in 'La Vida es Bella' (1997) and his collaboration with the Taviani brothers , with whom he worked in 'Padre Padrone' (1977), 'La noche de San Lorenzo '(1982),' Kaos' (1984) or 'Good Morning, Babylon' (1986).

He has also worked in 'Sandino' (1991), by Miguel Littín, in 'Farinelli, voce Regina' (1991), by Gérard Corbiau or 'A bourgeois hero' (1994), by Michele Placido.
