An iron boat stuck on rocks in a cliff near Canada's Niagara Falls has moved for the first time in 101 years.

The weather on the night of Halloween caused the boat to move from where it had been stuck since 1918.

The Niagara Parks Agency, part of the Ontario Government of Canada, posted a video on social media yesterday showing the boat's movement.

"It seems he turned on his side and moved in the opposite direction," Jim Hill, an acting official, said in the video.

"The boat is not in the same place it was yesterday, it seems to be 50 meters away from its original location."

The boat was suspended on the slopes during a rescue operation in August 1918.
