The Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare is reviewing insurance premiums every year in order to improve the insurance finance, which has deteriorated due to aging, for the national health insurance that self-employed workers and non-regular workers join. We presented a review plan from the next fiscal year to the Medical Insurance Subcommittee of the Security Council.

According to this, the maximum amount of annual insurance premiums will be increased by 20,000 yen from the current 800,000 yen to 820,000 yen.

The increase is three years in a row, and the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare estimates that the upper limit is paid to a single household with an annual income of approximately 11.2 million yen or more.

In addition, the premium for nursing care insurance paid by people aged 40 to 64 will be increased by 10,000 yen from the current 160,000 yen to 170,000 yen.

Combined with these, the total annual premium is 990,000 yen, which is expected to cover 1.68% of all households.
