As part of the Dubai Fitness Challenge 2019, Sheikh Zayed Road will for the first time become a running track on November 8th, giving residents and visitors of all ages, abilities and fitness levels the opportunity to participate in this activity by launching the Dubai Running Challenge on Sheikh Zayed Road. The free event, which includes a five-kilometer recreational run and a 10-kilometer timed run, aims to raise community awareness of the importance of health and encourage individuals to engage in sports.

This will be the first time that residents of the emirate have been able to run along part of the 14-lane highway and enjoy the emirate's famous sights while running. They will be able to make a historic breakthrough as they gather from across the city to demonstrate their commitment to a healthy lifestyle and meet the challenge of making Dubai the most vibrant city in the world.

People of all ages, abilities and fitness levels can participate in the five-kilometer running. Strollers and wheelchairs will be allowed to give the opportunity to all family members and people with disabilities to participate. The event is also a good event for school students, government employees and companies, who can participate with their friends and colleagues. The 10-kilometer race is for those 18 and older who will be able to test their running ability and perform best. Pre-registration to participate in the five-kilometer recreational race is necessary from the age of eight years and above, and those under the age of eight do not need registration Those 18 and older must also pre-register for the 10-kilometer race.
