An olive-green cardigan worn by American musician Kurt Cobain, a member of the Nirvana rock band, wore during the group's famous MTV Unplugged performance in 1993, was sold at auction yesterday for a record $ 334,000.

The jacket, covered with original stains and cigarette burns, became the most expensive auctioned auction.

The acrylic and mohair jacket took center stage at the two-day rock auction at the Hard Rock Cafe in New York.
The auction house, which was responsible for the event, described the jacket as "one of the most famous jackets in the history of music."

The emotional show "MTV Unplugged" in New York recorded directly to the public five months before the death of Cobain in April 1994.

The show, seen by many fans as the band's best, was released as an album later that year.

Fender Mustang's custom-made guitar, which he played during Nirvana's In Utero tour in 1993, was sold at the same auction for $ 340,000.

Other items sold at the auction include an Elvis Presley electric guitar made of hard sandalwood and plenty of jackets, gloves and hats designed specifically for Michael Jackson.
