A young man climbed the prison wall in the northwestern German city of Vechta to reach the window of his ex-girlfriend.
The prison authorities objected that the prison guards intercepted the young man who refused to descend, which required a request for fire services to bring a ladder to force him to descend after he climbed a wall measuring 4 meters high.
The young man had told his girlfriend to break up by phone, which made him do this.
The young man is being investigated for trespassing on state property and contacting a prisoner without authorization.
According to local radio station NDR, the young man was almost naked, after stripping most of his clothes to avoid barbed wire.
