Anyone looking for a very special place in Toledo to pay homage, to surprise someone loved or to feel like a guest of someone as extraordinary as Paco de Lucía was ... has already found it. For a few months it has been possible to stay in what was once the house of one of the best guitarists of all time.

He lived in many places, on Illustration Street in Madrid, where a commemorative plaque has been placed, in Amsterdam or in Playa del Carmen, in Mexico, where he spent his last months. But this beautiful house in the square of Santo Domingo el Viejo de Toledo was the closest to what he always dreamed of, a place to LIVE, gather his friends, compose and enjoy music.

A patio with flamenco air

The origins of the building date back to the fifteenth century but, like so many buildings in Toledo, it has been modified numerous times but always maintaining a warm and ancient atmosphere around a courtyard that has been impregnated with an unmistakable Flemish air. Every weekend it is transformed into an unusual concert hall with the arrival of followers and friends of Paco who again fill these walls with music. When the sound of the guitar goes out, it becomes an intimate place again, between geraniums and lemon trees where you feel an integral part of the world of this genius.

Hotel restaurant patio Toledo.

The rooms are located on the upper floor. Each has its own personality. The names lead us to memorable moments of the musician. The smallest but with the best views reminds us that here Cositas buenos (2004) was recorded. The largest is its own bedroom, which could only be called The Master. But both Rio Ancho, La Barrosa , Luzía (a suite for four people) or Almoraima have something different that will make them memorable for those who spend a night in them.

The hotel has the recording studio of the singer.

In the basement, there is the soul of the house: the studio where artists like Alejandro Sanz, Tomatito or Diego el Cigala recorded the aforementioned album Cositas buenos . In the lower part, in a vaulted area, a tavern emerges that could remember his time with Camarón because of the Andalusian air is in every corner.

The kitchen between two fires

The house is not large but includes Between two fires, a tiny restaurant. Actually, it is a Japanese-style bar for a maximum of eight guests where Víctor Sánchez Beato, responsible for the missing Locum restaurants , in Toledo itself, proposes a careful, imaginative and full of winks cuisine to this place full of elf. Although the wow moment arrives on the rooftop, where you can have breakfast, have a drink or snack while watching the Mudejar tower of the church of Santa Leocadia .

Guests can use the nearby Arab baths.

We could be in Marrakech but we are in Toledo, in front of the church of Santo Domingo , full of El Greco's masterpieces and where the Cretan painter was buried in 1614, although later who knows where his remains would end. Two steps away, the house of another illustrious character, Gustavo Adolfo Bécquer. Just for a little while in this privileged viewpoint it would be worth staying in this house where some say that Paco de Lucía spent some of the happiest and most creative moments of his life.

As a flourish , guests can use Toledo's wonderful new Arab baths , located in an old 12th-century building that are only a few meters away from this unique house.
