The thousands of young people who for a week have kept the security forces in check and sowed chaos, disorder and terror in the burning streets of Barcelona are the product of a collective failure that has its origin, among other reasons, in A very ideological education . Many of them are part of what is already known as the generation of the process, students between 14 and 16 who have been educated in public, private and concerted centers where nationalism has imposed cultural and political indoctrination as a school routine. The interruption of classes as a form of protest, the organization of student votes to attend strikes and the use of school facilities to hold assemblies during school hours - all with the consent of the teachers and the directors of the centers - are some examples of the pernicious consequences that for several generations of students has had control over decades of teaching by nationalism.

As we publish today, these students have surpassed their teachers in radicalism and actively participate in the protests, without hiding or hiding it. Moreover , they upload their own photos to social networks while participating in roadblocks, in the burning of containers, in the paralysis of the classrooms or wearing guerrilla civil signs of the type "We are the granddaughters of Republicans who could not kill in the Ebro ". None of this occurs in other communities where hate policies imposed in Catalonia have not been standardized, whose classrooms are educated in the code of friends and enemies and those who are considered hostile to the homeland . However, instead of breaking with the political and ideological leaders of that situation, Pedro Sánchez maintains the pacts he has with them in dozens of Catalan municipalities and in the Barcelona council. There is no point in staging a rupture of the dialogue with Torra , as he did yesterday in his visit to Barcelona, if he does not decide to act bluntly against a movement that not only does not condemn the violence, but has commissioned the legal defense of Carles Puigdemont fled to Gonzalo Boye , a character from the terrorist past and investigated by the National Court for money laundering from the drug store Sito Miñanco .

The current reality, however, is the result of the irresponsibility in educational matters of the successive governments since the Transition. Up to eight Education laws have been enacted - and seven of them repealed - in just 40 years, preventing the continuity of curricula that meet a two essential objective: to train students so they can behave as citizens of a liberal democracy and offer them the necessary tools to compete as workers in an increasingly demanding globalized market.
