Capitane Marleau , the French drama that stinks, returns for a 16th episode Wednesday on France 3. While the episode broadcast in April with guest star Isabelle Adjani captivated more than 8 million viewers - historical record for the series - the one October 22 will bring together, alongside the hilarious Corinne Masiero, Joey Star, Marina Hands, and Tom Villa.
The title of this opus: The Big Eight. "This is a story that takes place in an amusement park led by an unlikely couple, played by Joey Star and Marina Hands," says director Philippe Vandel, in Culture Media on Europe 1, the director Josée Dayan. "There is a dead person on the scene, linked to Joey Star's family, and Marleau is coming in to investigate because that girl is suspicious," says the director, who promises a plot with drawers.
A character who immediately seduced the audience
Chapka on the head, androgynous and tongue-in-cheek, with a cht'i accent, the character of policeman embodied by Corinne Masiero has largely conquered French viewers. And yet, nothing destined him to have his own series. "I was asked to do a mini-series for France 3, called Between Winds and Tides , with Muriel Robin and Nicole Garcia.It was happening in Belle-Ile-en-Mer and we needed a I asked Elsa Marpeau, who wrote the screenplay, to create a character for Corine Masiero, whom she did not know, "says Josée Dayan.
"When we shot this film, the weather was terrible, we decided to put a chapka on Corinne, take a 4x4 to avoid getting bogged down, and the character was born like that, because of the weather conditions. we did not think there would be a sequel, "she continues. It was not counting on the craze of viewers. "The audience stopped me in the street, which never happened to me, telling me: who is this actress who plays the gendarme? I said to myself: there is something going on with her!"
And the success should continue, with at least three episodes of Captain Marleau in preparation. "We shot in Corsica with Mélanie Doutey, I just finished shooting in Dunkirk with Edouard Baer", who plays a thanatopractor, slides Josée Dayan. "There I am going to Guadeloupe with Virginie Ledoyen," she adds.
