While making Panorama appear, an album on which he has used different musicians for each of his songs, Vincent Delerm releases his first feature film, I do not know if it's everyone , and starts his tour at La Cigale, in Paris. A week before this big comeback, we met this singer full of charm.

In a scene from his first feature film, I do not know if it's everyone , Vincent Delerm films Alain Souchon in a fixed shot, a helmet on his ears. These kinds of moments, Vincent Delerm brings back a lot in his film and in the ten songs of Panorama , his seventh album. The singer, who has made the intimate his favorite playground, tells these little things that also make our lives. More than a lover of words, Delerm likes those things he inventories, much less than his beginnings, and sensations. For the song I do not know if it's everyone , it's "symbolic of what we do when we write a song," he explains. "You say, 'I felt that, but I do not know if you are the same.' The only thing that matters is to find an echo and people say, 'Ah, c 'crazy, because he put his finger on something, whereas I thought it was only me who felt that' ".

A diet without Truffaut

Continuing to listen to this record, we think of the same Souchon, signing the title track of L'Amour en fuite by François Truffaut (1979), because there is something common in this lightness, and especially because we talk about the same feelings. Love, again and again, the time that passes on, are at the heart of things. Jean Rochefort's latest films

To elaborate this seventh disc, the singer appealed to one or several musicians for each of the titles. There are old acquaintances, like the Swede Peter Von Poehl or the duo, Clément Ducol / Maxime Le Guil, female singers never asked before, like Keren Ann and Yaël Naïm, and a whole group of newcomers: David Ivar Herman Dune, French 79 or Rufus Wainwright, for a moving duet. Why these choices? "Initially, it comes from not being able to choose, from wanting to work with different people and from working with people I know." For Voyou, I discovered his record, I really loved. But I do not know him enough to make a record with him, and it's the same for Girls in Hawaii, so it was perfect to have this panorama of a lot of people I love and who I felt, were not going to try to knock down the walls. "

Even with this device, Panorama sounds like pure Vincent Delerm where we find his paw melancholy. It is this look that we find in his first film, and that we will undoubtedly find, in a show that will begin with a good month at the poster of La Cigale in Paris.

So, Vincent Delerm sees himself today as a singer "out of competition"? "I've always been lucky to be out of competition, especially with my first album that was out of date, and at the same time to be" admitted to the club. "People and media followed me while I was always away from the sound of the moment, that's what I was looking for, when I started, but it's great too to be out of competition, because you can do something other than a record, it's a permission I got, especially from the show Memory. "

From song to theater to photography, from his portraits of singers to filming the latest scenes of Jean Rochefort's career, Vincent Delerm has imposed his gaze. Casually, he questions the way to be a popular singer.
