Karl Ove Knausgård is the first Nordic author to be included in the project, which has previously associated authors such as Canadian Margaret Atwood, Turkish Elif Shafak and South Korean Han Kang.

The future library was started by Scottish artist Katie Paterson in 2014 and collects an unreleased original work every year by a selected author. A process that will last until 2114.

Knausgård: Putting life into perspective

The future library project has, among other things, been described as "the world's most secret library". And just as secret was Karl Ove Knausgård when asked by NRK what his work will be about:

- The point is, after all, that no one should read the books until 100 years, so I can't or would not say anything about it. It puts life here and now in perspective. When the books are read, none of us will be there anymore. Can we imagine that? says the author of NRK.
