The singer, who has just released a new album - "No more the day than the night" - was the guest of "Media Culture", Monday morning, on Europe 1.

INTERVIEW

Regarded as one of the best French songwriters, Alex Beaupain is back with a sixth album: No more day than night . A record in the shade still dark, but less autobiographical than its precedents, as explained by the singer in Culture Media Monday.

"The more time goes by, the more difficult I am to write songs"

For this new album, Alex Beaupain undertook a different approach. "I did not feel like doing the arrangements any more, I felt like I was done with what I could do, and I wanted to do something new," he says. he. The singer has therefore appealed to two artists for this task - Sage and Superpoze - resulting in a more electronic rendering than usual.

"For once, I can say more easily that I like this record," says Alex Beaupain, who tells himself less than usual. "On this record, there was the decision to speak a little more than me," he says. The singer adds: "The more time goes by, the more difficult I am to write songs and maybe the more things are going, the less interesting they will be ..."

On stage, "I will try to do only the singer"

Alex Beaupain will start a big tour that will take him everywhere in France, including a date at Olympia, in Paris, on November 20th. There too, for the faithful of the artist, change is to be expected. "I'm going to put 'in front', not at all at the piano, I'm going to try to do only the singer," says Alex Beaupain, who will be accompanied by four musicians with him on stage.
