The Yamaguchi Prefectural Museum of Art is going to release the work from next month on the assumption that an ink painting that Yukifune, a Muromachi period ink artist, worked on in his youth, was found.

The newly-released ink painting has a pair of 3 widths, with a bunshikan and 2 herbs drawn on the hanging scroll 3 widths.

The Yamaguchi Prefectural Art Museum received confirmation from the owner and confirmed that the writing was similar to other works of Yukifune, and a sign that was written as “Isoyo” used by Yukifune at a young age. That is.

In addition, Yukifune's works from a young age are very similar in composition and features to ink paintings that are now unknown.

For this reason, the museum decided to make it open to the public on the 2nd of next month, assuming that it was a work by a young snow boat.

The museum's curator, Michihiko Hikaitsu, said, “It's valuable for knowing the process of the snow boat painting process. I want many people to see it.”

On the other hand, since it takes time to evaluate whether a work is true, the museum wants to determine the evaluation of the work based on the opinions of many experts in the future.
