In "Culture media" on Europe 1, the singer evokes his return with a new studio, thirteen years after his last unreleased album.

INTERVIEW

Thirteen years after his last album of unpublished songs, Dave is back with a new record, Remember to love . An opus that owes its birth to a set of meetings, as explained by the singer Wednesday in L'Equipée sauvage on Europe 1.

"He said this magic word for me: 'I produce'"

"Everything is random," says Dave. By settling right next to L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, in the Vaucluse, Vanina's interpreter came to live near a great voice of the French song, Renaud, but also very close to the composer Thierry Geoffroy, who knows both artists. When Dave started to compose new songs, Thierry Geoffroy made listen to Renaud. The author of Mistral winner was immediately seduced. "He wanted to listen to other songs and he said this magic word for me: 'I produce'," says Dave. In addition to funding this new album, "Renaud did me the honor to give me a text," says Dave.

Even if Dave remains an important name of the French-speaking song, this return to the front of the music scene had nothing obvious. "Above 70, it is extremely difficult to be an artist who plays on radio, except for exceptions like Renaud or Souchon," he says. "To make it known is as important as the know-how," adds the artist, noting that "what makes people want to buy a record is still radio."
