When Sara Danius stepped out on the stairs at the Stockholm Stock Exchange in April 2018 and announced her decision to leave the Swedish Academy, she did so in a white tie.
Soon thereafter, the hashtag #knytblus trended on Twitter and since then the garment has been a symbol of Danius and her fight against inequality.
Sara Danius died on October 12 after a long illness, surrounded by her family. She turned 57 years old.
