More than 2,000 boats and 15,000 sailors set sail off the northern Italian coast to compete in the Barcolana Regatta sailing race in Italy.

He raced among a number of locals in 1969 and is now the largest sailing race in the world, involving sailors from Australia, the United Kingdom, the United States, Korea, Ukraine and China.

The starting line is located below the Victory Lighthouse built in 1927 to illuminate the Gulf to serve as a monument to those killed in World War I.
