In a commercial for Donald Trump's new election campaign, Queens hit "We will rock you". The song is played in its entirety while images from campaign meetings are displayed, writes Independent. Trump has previously used the band's music as input music at campaign events. But using music in a commercial is another matter and now legal action is awaiting.

- Queen has not agreed to the use of the song and the band's music publisher intends to remove it from the film, says a representative of the group to The Independent.

Queen May guitarist Brian May has previously said that even if Trump had asked for permission to use their music, they would have answered no, and he has called Trump a "very dangerous man" in the Good Morning Britain television program.

Promised not to use Prince's music - did it anyway

Representatives of deceased artist Prince have also been upset by his music being used in Trump's campaign. During an event in Prince's hometown of Minnesota on Thursday, his song Purple Rain was played.

"President Trump played the song even though he promised a year ago that the campaign would not use Prince's music," Prince's obituary wrote in a tweet. They also post a photo of a letter from the law firm that represented the Trump campaign last year.

The letter clearly states that the Trump campaign "refrains from using Purple Rain or any other Prince music in conjunction with campaign events."

Despite the promise, Prince's music has now been used in Trump's campaign and Prince's representatives write on twitter that "they will never allow Trump to use Prince's songs".

Several artists have previously objected to Trump using their music in their campaigns. Artists like Rihanna, Guns N 'Roses, Pharell Williams and REM have previously demanded that Trump stop using their music.
