Akashi City, Hyogo Prefecture, is considering the first system in the country to announce the name of a single parent's family in the city when the other parent who has divorced does not pay the childcare fee that has been fixed in court. The

However, because there are voices concerned about privacy issues, a review committee consisting of 6 members including university professors and representatives of NPOs supporting single-parent families was held and the first meeting was held on the 11th.

At the meeting, Mayor Izumi proposed 16 measures, such as salary deductions and frauds, in addition to announcing his name.

Regarding the announcement of the name, the committee member gave a positive opinion that “in a malicious case, it could be used as a last resort”, while there was an opinion that “the child has a large disadvantage”.

Therefore, the committee decided to verify the effects of all 16 measures, assuming that name disclosure was the last resort.

The verification method and schedule will be decided at the next and subsequent meetings.

Professor Masayuki Tanamura of Waseda University, who is the chairman, said, “I want to create a system that can be used as an example for other local governments by verifying the extent to which measures can be taken from an administrative standpoint.”
