At 46, comedian and comedian Claudia Tagbo takes a new step in her career. At the Mogador Theater in Paris, she is the star of the musical Ghost Le musical , an adaptation of the film of the same name released in 1990. On Europe 1, she tells how she embarked on this unprecedented stage.

If the comedian, revealed by the Jamel comedy club, has tried several times to participate in a musical, such as The Lion King or Chicago , this time, thanks to his fame, she has finally reached. "This is a proposal from the director of the Mogador theater, Laurent Bentata, he came to see me at the theater of Gaîeté-Montparnasse where I played my show, Lucky," says Claudia Tagbo, who interprets, in Ghost , the role of the Oda Mae, screened by Whoopi Goldberg. "[Laurent Bentata] told me: 'Our next show will be the Ghost show and I was thinking of you for Oda Mae but there is a whole cast and audition process to be done.'"
"One day, you will try the musical"
This proposal immediately pleased the comedian. "I said to myself: 'One day you'll try the musical', I did it when I did not even know, in advance, that Ghost was going to come out so I thought it was funny," says she.
Accustomed to one woman show, the comedian had to stand out during "an American selection". On the program: "singing, acting and dancing". An unusual experience for Claudia Tagbo. "At the very beginning, [the casting team] wanted to meet me, they told me, 'We'll start by seeing if you have the [musical] ear.' It's weird to come just for that. just do not want to waste their time, "she says.

Despite this new momentum, Claudia Tagbo keeps her feet on the ground. "Whoopie Goldberg is a monument, I'm far from it," she admits, claiming to be basing herself first on the role of Oda Mae before the performance of Whoopie Goldberg.
Not only does Claudia Tagbo perform in Ghost the role of a great American actress but she also has to sing. A novelty for the artist. "The orchestra is underneath in the pit, sometimes I'm told, 'You're a little under the note but do not worry, we'll catch up with you,'" she reveals.
In parallel with Ghost The musical , Claudia Tagbo does not close any door. "This job is a change of color: a sudden we are in the theater, a sudden we do humor, then we cry," she rejoices. In a few days, on October 16, she will star in the movie Dead angle alongside Isabelle Carré. She will also play, in a few times, in a police telefilm, Intime conviction .
A new one woman show in 2022?
Despite these various experiences, the desire to return to her first love: the one woman show, is well anchored in her mind. "Right now I'm really dedicated to this musical, it's new to me, but basically there's a one [woman show], of course, it would be great if I could come back in January 2022", she explains, mentioning the call perhaps Sexy , in the continuity of these last two shows, Crazy and Lucky .
