His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, received today the slogan of tolerance, including the image of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Noura bint Mohammed Al Kaabi, Minister of Culture and Knowledge Development, Chairperson of the Executive Committee for Tolerance to use the slogan of tolerance in the country after the end of the Year of Tolerance 2019.
His Highness expressed his happiness to receive this authentic national symbol which constitutes a major component of the slogan "Year of Tolerance" because of the significance of this big tree as a symbol of steadfastness and coexistence in the desert and is associated with the identity of the sons and heritage of the UAE. The consolidation of the values of tolerance is an extension of Zayed's approach and its human heritage.
The Al Ghaf tree, which is characterized by its mellow green color, refers to sustainability due to the role of this tree in preserving the environmental life as it is a tree friendly to the nature of the UAE and is closely linked to the folk and environmental heritage of the UAE. Sultan Al Nahyan, may God have mercy on him, paid special attention. He issued laws and instructions to prevent the cutting of Ghaf trees.
