TEHRAN (Reuters) - Authorities in Iran were arrested on Sunday on charges of inciting violence, an Iranian who gained fame for Instagram after publishing photos of her undergoing cosmetic surgery that radically changed her face, Tasnim news agency reported.

The agency announced the arrest of the account holder Sahar Tebr on Instagram by order of a court in Tehran charged with examining cultural crimes and moral and social corruption, without clarifying when it was arrested.

Tepper faces charges of inciting violence, getting revenue by twisted means and of inciting the younger generation to corruption, the agency said.

Last year, after being published on Instagram, where she had 26,800 followers, she became famous for her photo collection after undergoing plastic surgery.

The photos she posted on social media were modified to make her look like Hollywood star Angelina Jolie.

Tens of thousands of plastic surgeries are performed annually in Iran.

Instagram is the only social media available to Iranians, with Iranian authorities banning Facebook, Twitter and Telegram.
