The children's and youth book Goodnight Stories for Rebel Girls, which contains 100 short illustrated texts on inspirational women throughout world history, is described as the most successful grassroots-funded book project ever and has been translated into 47 languages.

In Turkey, restrictions are now being placed on the sale of the book, which means that it can only be sold to people over the age of 18, while it must not be displayed in stores, as Turkish authorities consider the book's content to be harmful to young people, writes Kulturnytt.

Turkey is not the first country to take action on the sale of Goodnight Stories for rebel girls. When the book was launched in Russia, the publisher Bombora chose to censor the transgender Coy Mathi's story - in accordance with Russia's ban on spreading "propaganda for untraditional sexual intercourse" to young people.
