The Joker

In the script, Todd Phillips did not find any concrete plot arches from the comics about the antagonist of Batman. Meanwhile, in the script of the film, lines from Alan Moore's graphic novels The Murderous Joke and Frank Miller's The Return of the Dark Knight are guessed.

Arthur Fleck is a clown animator who dreams of becoming a stand-up comedian and getting into the evening show of TV star Murray Franklin. Unfortunately, Fleck suffers from a rare mental disorder, manifested in the form of attacks of uncontrolled laughter. But this is not all: the pills prescribed by the hero by the psychiatrist restrain him from an unknown to the viewer more serious and dangerous disease for society.

He shot the picture (and wrote the script) Todd Phillips - the creator of the trilogy "The Hangover" and co-author of Borat. Arthur Fleck's Hacked Solo plays Joaquin Phoenix. Together, the director and actor tried to recreate the origin of one of the iconic villains of the DC universe.

How critics evaluate the Joker is in RT.

"Operation Hummingbird" (The Hummingbird Project)

Russian Jew from New York Vincent Zaleski (Jesse Eisenberg) is an ambitious trader who dreams of laying a fiber optic tunnel between Kansas and New Jersey to receive stock market data with a temporary millisecond advantage (the duration of a hummingbird wing flap).

To bring the cunning scheme to life, Vincent hires a talented programmer - his cousin Anton Zaleski (Alexander Skarsgard). Their ex-boss Eva Torres (Salma Hayek) learns about the brothers ’ideas and she doesn’t want her to cross the road.

For Operation Hummingbird, Skarsgård dramatically changed his image - the Swedish actor appeared in the tape with his head half shaved. But Hayek had to dye his hair in ash blue.

Everest (Abominable)

Initially, this cartoon was given the name Everest, but the creators decided to rename the tape to Abominable (which, if you add Snowman, translates as "snowman").

A yeti named Everest is not inferior to dragons in its charisma. He also looks like a large dog and an animated Tasmanian devil at the same time. A shaggy creature on its roof finds a girl named Lou. She decides to help Bigfoot get to her native mountains and sets off with him towards Everest, bypassing Shanghai's neon-lit streets, countryside and picturesque mountain landscapes. Bigfoot will not be in debt.

DreamWorks and Pearl Studio have been developing the animated film since 2010. During this time, the project has undergone personnel changes and a revision of the script. Everest is the second cartoon created by the tandem of DreamWorks and Pearl Studio: for the first time, companies worked together on the third Kung Fu Panda.

"Wizard"

Composer Mikhail Morskov composed the music for the film “About Love. Only for adults ”, as well as to the paintings of Oksana Karas“ Above the Sky ”and“ Good Boy ”. The latter glorified the actor Semyon Treskunov, whom Morskov decided to call on the role of the teenager Roma in his full-length debut “The Wizard”.

Maxim Sukhanov ("Moms") in the tape played rocker Yefim. His hero is the guitarist of the once ultra-popular group Magic, who has departed from active creative activity. He receives an offer to become a guitar tutor for a patient with cerebral palsy, a teenager Roma, who, in turn, wants to win the heart of a classmate.

Roles in The Wizard were also performed by Ivan Okhlobystin, Irina Kupchenko and Sergey Chonishvili.

“Leonardo da Vinci. Unknown Worlds ”(Io, Leonardo)

After “Michelangelo. Infinity "and" Caravaggio. Soul and Blood ”Sky Studios took up the development of an educational film about one of the most prominent artists of the High Renaissance art - Leonardo da Vinci. The painting of Jesus Garces Lambert is dedicated to the 500th anniversary of the death of a genius.

The art film is conceived as a journey through the mind of da Vinci: the picture begins with a figurative immersion in the "brain" of the artist, where ideas and famous inventions are collected in the form of drawings and sketches.

There is almost no action in the film. The emphasis is on the visual component: the shooting was carried out at a high technical level, due attention was paid to special effects. Minor characters are needed not so much for the development of the plot, but in order to clearly show the history of the creation of masterpieces or the emotional state of the main character.

The costumes of the characters are meticulously recreated, and some geniuses known from the drawings of the invention are shown in action. The plot is built around genuine recordings of Leonardo da Vinci, according to which viewers learn about some events in the life of the artist and inventor, but above all - about the evolution of his worldview.

“Love them all”

The heroine of Alena Mikhailova earns a living in an unusual way - she breeds rich men for money. She builds masterly schemes, seeks an individual approach to clients, and also expertly changes images. The characters of Alexander Kuznetsov, Kirill Safonov and Sergey Garmash, who are in love with the swindler, know her under different names - Vera, Nadezhda and Lyubov.

The name of the debut feature film directed by Maria Agranovich can be understood in different ways: a call to love all the images of the heroine or the men she fooled.

Agranovich wrote the script for the tape back in 2011, but production had to be postponed. That is why her picture was outstripped by "The Container" by Konstantin Bogomolov and Buy Me by Vadim Perelman. However, “Love them all” invites the viewer to look at the life of the kept woman from a completely different angle.

“That which was not” (Celle que vous croyez)

A new tape from the creator of The Other Dumas, Frenchman Safi Nebbu, is an adaptation of the novel of the French writer Camille Laurence, "The Only One You Believe" (Celle que vous croyez). In the Russian box office, the tape passes under the name “The One That Was Not”.

The heroine Juliette Binoche - Claire Milo - after a divorce from her husband, registers a fake profile of 24-year-old girl Clara on a social network. On the Internet, a young man named Alex meets her (or rather, Clara), communication with whom will soon develop for the heroine into a strong emotional attachment.

In 2019, the picture was presented in the Berlinale Special category at the Berlin Film Festival.

“Fight” (War)

The plot of this tape is as florid and unpredictable as the plot of many films of Indian production (and this is all the charm). Judge for yourself: the young soldier Khalid faces a difficult task - you need to find and eliminate the former partner (and part-time mentor) agent Kabir, who is considered a deserter. Meanwhile, Kabir is performing a state task and is looking for a secret document. Having discovered Kabir, Khalid realizes that he is no traitor, and decides to join him. However, Kabir soon learns that Khalid is not the one he claims to be.

The main roles in the film were played by the star of the melodrama “Prayer” Hrithik Roshan and the Indian “Rambo” Tiger Schroff. In the director's chair - the author of the drama "Salam Namaste" Siddhart Anand.
