The famous drug leader, Joaquin Guzmán Loira, better known as El Chapo, began to carry out his life-long sentence, amid tight security and under tight security.

El Chapo was born on December 25, 1954 (or April 4, 1957), a Mexican drug dealer, and former president of the Sinaloa Cartel, a criminal organization named after the coastal state of Sinaloa where she grew up.

El Chapo became Mexico's largest drug dealer in 2003 after the arrest of his rival, Aseel Cardenas, of the Gulf cartel. He was considered "the most powerful drug trafficker in the world" by the US Treasury.

From 2009 to 2011, Forbes listed El Chapo as one of the world's most powerful people, ranking 41, 60 and 55 respectively. He was the second most powerful man in Mexico, after Carlos Slim.

The magazine calls him "the biggest drug dealer ever." The US federal government considers him "the most cruel and dangerous person on the planet." The DEA estimated that he met Pablo Escobar in terms of influence and outreach, and considered him "the godfather of the drug world." In 2013, the Chicago Criminal Committee called him "the number one enemy of the people" because of the influence of his criminal network in Chicago (without clear evidence that he was in that city). The last person to receive such fame was Al Capone in 1930 ..
