At the prefectural general hospital in Moriyama City, Shiga Prefecture, the results of the examination showed that there was a suspicion of cancer in the report of three patients. I understood that.

One of them died of cancer four years after oversight.

According to the Shiga Prefectural General Hospital, a CT examination of three male patients in their 50s and 80s conducted from September 2015 to October, all reported “suspected of cancer”. It was described.

However, this means that the attending physician overlooked the description or prioritized treatment for another disease.

Of these, patients in their 80s who had been suspected of having liver cancer in September 2015 four years ago died because of liver cancer in April.

The other two patients have been suspected of having cancer at another medical institution, and are currently being treated at the prefectural general hospital.

The hospital apologized to the bereaved family and two patients for the attending physician's attention to the outcome of another illness and the lack of coordination that prevented proper treatment.

The hospital is investigating whether other patients are overlooked, and Dr. Satoshi Ichiyama said, “This is a result of damaging the trust in medical care, and we are deeply reflecting on it.
