Child welfare clerk in Tokyo Estimated shortage of about 190 after 3 years Tokyo Oct. 3 8:12

In order to strengthen the response to child abuse, the national government has revised the placement standard to increase the number of specialized staff at the child guidance center. Year after year, we compiled a trial calculation that there were about 190 child welfare officers in Tokyo.

This was clarified by the Tokyo Metropolitan Child Welfare Council held on the 2nd night of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government.

The country has so far requested that at least one child welfare officer and child psychologist to be placed at the child guidance center be assigned to the jurisdiction of 40,000 people. The standards have been revised so that one or more people are assigned to each person.

As a result, the new standard requires 500 child welfare officers, which means that there are about 190 shortages compared to the current constant, and 252 child psychologists are needed, which is about 100 people from now. It means that there is a shortage.

Child welfare teachers need expertise, making it difficult to secure, and in April next year, Setagaya Ward and others will open their own child consultation centers, further competing for human resources. If so.

For this reason, the Metropolitan Government is not only recruiting new employees, but also proactively utilizing employees with a fixed term, and developing young employees through training so that measures can be taken to prevent shortages.
