His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah and President of the Sharjah Academy for Performing Arts, received yesterday, a number of senior Arab theater artists and heads of theatrical institutes and captains of artists in the Arab world, guests of the opening ceremony of the Sharjah Academy for the Performing Arts, Dr. Sultan Al Qasimi Circuit. His Highness welcomed the guests and thanked them for responding to the invitation, saying, “We welcome you to the UAE and Sharjah, the incubator of Arab culture, and we wish you a pleasant stay with us, this presence which drives us to give more and prove our feet for charitable cultural work.”

His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah explained in a speech to the guests that Sharjah and its cultural work was not the birth of the moment, especially in the field of theater, in 1955 the theater was able to contribute to the support of education through a play by students of Al Qasimia School, has allocated tickets to attend and proceeds The tickets, which amounted to 30,000 rupees - equivalent to 3 million dirhams - to build additional classes for the school to accommodate the growing numbers of students wishing to learn. His Highness added that the theater in Sharjah continued to give by showing what touches people and put their issues and touches their conscience, and show everything that would reflect their reality and their lives, and continued on this approach from those days to the present day.

His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah said: `` What the Arab world has suffered from the emergence of extremist currents of thought obliged us in Sharjah not to limit our cultural mobility at the local level only, but extended to all countries of the Arab world in various cultural, intellectual and artistic areas such as poetry, story, novel, arts, theater and others. '' His Highness said, "The presence of a specialized academy in theater is part of our work in the face of these currents, and education and training will not be limited to the performance of the representative, but will extend to include the various sciences of the theater of writing, lighting, fashion and music." His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah invited the attendees to contribute to the recommendation and selection of talented people from their countries to study in the Academy, in order to serve the Arab theater and to create a generation of academic theater conscious and armed with science and talent, and able to continue the march.

His Highness stressed that the Sharjah Academy for Performing Arts came to complete the work of theatrical institutes in the Arab world, and that Sharjah is ready to provide moral and material support to all institutes concerned with theater.
