A kind of Fight Club in the country of seniors. In the film You're young, you're beautiful , in theaters Wednesday, Gerard Darmon camps the character of Lucius, 73 years. In financial difficulty, he agrees to participate in boxing boxing fights "between old". In L'Equipée sauvage on Europe 1, the actor evokes this film that marked him.

Clandestine fights between seniors? "I had the same curiosity as you to know if it really existed, but I found nothing very fortunately," says the actor. The pitch, rather original director Franchin Don, is primarily a way to show the elderly against poverty. "My character is doing these clandestine fights to earn a decent living and offer Mona a decent home," says Gerard Darmon.
If these clandestine fights between grandfathers on the big screen are likely to react, this is not what seduced Gérard Darmon in the first place. "What made me want to do this film is above all the quality of the writing and the strength of the character," says the actor. "It's a snapshot of society, old people and their loneliness," he adds.
