The fifth edition of Dubai Design Week will be launched on November 11, in partnership with the Dubai Design District, with the support of the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority and Audi Middle East. The edition, which runs until November 16, focuses on the UAE's design identity through the efforts of a variety of local and international creative arts organizations, through more than 200 events.

Dubai Design Week 2019 will provide visitors with opportunities to interact directly with a selection of talent in the region and will launch a creative dialogue that will establish Dubai as the region's creative capital.

Downtown Design is the premier exhibition of authentic and high-quality designs in the Middle East and is the heart of creativity at Dubai Design Week. Following the success of its first edition last year, Downtown Editions, a tailor-made, limited-edition design division, will continue to unveil the next generation of design talent in the region. The list of designers involved in the second edition of this section includes glossy names.

Abwab is an innovative architectural structure that offers the ultimate creativity platform for talented designers from across the Middle East. Designers from India, Saudi Arabia and Lebanon will participate in the fifth edition of Abwab as they take on a challenge to re-establish local classrooms drawn from their diverse cultures through the theme of “Learning Methods.

Guest curator Ghassan Salameh will highlight the regional design sector with two new exhibitions: Madar, which focuses on the educational aspect; and Insight-Onsite, which focuses on product design.

In conjunction with the Dubai Design Week, the inaugural edition of the Sharjah Architecture Triennale is set to consolidate November's status as an annual date highlighting the design landscape in the region. The Sharjah Triennale aims to provide a platform for architecture and urban planning in the region and to accelerate the development of contemporary practices and the preservation of contemporary heritage in the region.
