The journalist Sara Polo has been the winner of the XXXVI Unicaja Award for Journalistic Articles, for her text Everyone wants sex, but only for WhatsApp, published in the online edition of EL MUNDO on July 20, 2018.

The decision of the XXXVI edition of the Unicaja Prize for Journalistic Articles , which amounts to 3,000 euros, has been attended by the vice president of the Unicaja Foundation, Mariano Vergara , who has been accompanied by the head of the Unicaja Foundation Center of Cádiz, Javier Vela , and by Manuel Arias , representative of the jury.

Valladolid's Sara Polo article, published in the online edition of El Mundo on July 20, 2018 in the framework of a series of articles entitled Sex on the beach , deals with the ruptures and his brief but intense experience as a millennial . From the winning article, the jury highlights its "fine use of irony, its stylistic freshness and its remarkable capacity for sociological prospecting to press the vices and weaknesses of our time."

Likewise, and after the excellent quality of the works presented, the Prize organization has unanimously decided to grant an honorable mention, which has gone to Jesús Nieto Jurado , for his text Manolo, in images , published in Diario SUR.

The announcement of the XXXVI Unicaja Journalistic Articles Award, which already has three and a half decades of tradition, has had a high participation. Original texts have been received from numerous parts of the country, such as from Madrid, Seville, Ciudad Real, Jaén, Málaga, León, Ourense, Murcia, Cádiz, Zaragoza or Pamplona, ​​which have been published in informative headers of the relevance of El País, El Mundo, La Razón, El Faro de Vigo, Diario Sur, El Confidencial, La Opinion of Málaga, El Norte de Castilla, La Voz de Almería, El Heraldo de Aragón or Diario de Menorca.

In June 2018, he won the XXXIX Julio Camba National Journalism Award .

With more than three and a half decades of fruitful experience, the Unicaja Journalistic Articles Award is, in its kind, one of the most prestigious and consolidated in the country.
