According to BBC, Taylor Swift has canceled her performance at the Melbourne Cup. The organization of a horse race had announced her show in a big way earlier this month, but the busy schedule of the singer no longer allows that.
Swift would sing two songs from her new album Lover on November 5, but that is no longer possible due to changes in her promotion tour in Asia.
The singer was under attack with animal activists. They demanded from the American star that she would not come to play and had supporters sign a petition. They accused her of "approving animal abuse" and think that Swift has canceled her concert because of this fuss.
Since 2013, six horses have been killed during the horse races. Last year a horse on the course was released from its suffering after breaking its shoulder.
It is not yet known who will replace Swift.
