On September 3, 2018, the UAE announced the launch of the first two Emirati astronauts, Hazza Ali Abdan Khalfan Al Mansouri and Sultan Saif Muftah Hamad Al Neyadi, in cooperation with the Russian Space Agency (Roskosmos). Emiratis have taken tests as part of the Emirates Astronaut Program, which aims to qualify and send Emirati astronauts into outer space for scientific missions.

The 'Tomorrow of Zayed' journey began last June when the Mohammed bin Rashid Space Center, in collaboration with the Federal Youth Foundation, announced a slogan for the first UAE-Arab space mission to launch on the International Space Station on September 25 as part of the Emirates Astronaut Program launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, in 2017 to train and prepare a team of UAE astronauts and send them to space for various scientific missions.

The emblem of the mission embodied the ambition of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may God rest his soul, in the arrival of UAE nationals in space, especially as he believed in their abilities and cared about the UAE entering this sector.

After that, the journey of preparation and preparation for the historic mission to the International Space Station began. Hazza Al-Mansouri was selected as the main crew of the mission and Sultan Al-Neyadi was among the alternative crew of the mission and underwent intensive preparation for this mission. Russia is preparing for this mission and has also trained at the European Space Agency's European Astronauts Center.

They also underwent training at NASA's Lyndon B. Johnson Space Center on various units and components of the US space station and dealing with emergencies, particularly low air pressure or ammonia leak.

The emirate's astronaut Hazza Al Mansouri will shoulder the slogan "Zayed's ambition" during his historic mission, which constitutes a unique model for the nation's youth, called Will, Challenge and Achievement.

While aboard the International Space Station, Mansouri will be entrusted with a scientific mission involving several experiments and will be responsible for completing scientific missions in the ISS laboratories during the mission.

The launch mission from the Baikonur space station in Kazakhstan via the Soyuz MS12 spacecraft is divided into three basic phases, including the preparation of the spacecraft, the second phase, which includes overcoming gravity and the final stage, the spacecraft launch.

After the completion of the scientific experiments, which are scheduled to last for eight days aboard the International Space Station will be the return flight of the astronaut to Earth aboard the spacecraft "Soyuz MS12" on Friday, October 4 next.
